JOHN BARHAM

Born - Will proved 20th March 1737

 

A son of John Barham of Canterbury, he died without issue. His will is dated 9th October 1734, and was proved 20th March 1737. He left his moiety of property in Canterbury, in Beer Cart lane in the parish of St Margaret, to his godson Richard Harris Barham. The other moiety was bequeathed to his nephew Harris Barham. son of his late brother Thomas. An annuity of rent of £10 per annum, charged upon the property, was to be paid to Stephen Durrant, apothecary of Canterbury, in trust for him to pay the same to his sister Anne Dawes, the wife of Hugh Dawes, with the proviso that Hugh was not to see any of it. His brother Richard was made sole executor of the will.
