RICHARD JACOB
Baptized 29th November 1593 - Buried 14th December 1664(?)
The eldest son of Amos Jacob of Elham, he was baptized at Elham on 29th November 1593. He married at least twice. His first wife was named Frances and by her he had a number of children:
1 Amos MD, baptized 14th October 1621 at Denton
2 William, baptized 9th May 1624
3 Richard MD, baptized 22nd August 1625
4 Margaret, baptized 11th March 1626
5 Rose, baptized 12th October 1628, buried 8th May 1630 at Denton.

7 Afrye, baptized 30th August 1635
8 Susanna, baptized 25th March 1638
9 Ursula, buried 12th August 1638
On 21st September 1639, described as of Denton and a widower, he married Frances Cosen, widow, the daughter of William Cosen, at St Margaret's, Canterbury; she was born in 1615. His children were born in a number of parishes near Elham, so perhaps he held land in these, possibly in right of his first wife Frances. He is known more often than not as of Barham.
