MAJOR THOMAS CANDY CSI

Born in 1804 - Died 27th Feb 1877

 

 

He was born in East Knoyle, Wiltshire, in 1804 and died at Mahableshwar, India, on 27th Feb 1877. He had a twin brother the Reverend George Candy. Both brothers were keen supporters of the CMS. He was a lexicographer and education officer in India.

Thomas married Carolina, the daughter of John Jacob.
