Of Waterford, the son of Richard Jacob, he was born circa 1796, died 16th August 1828 at Fethard, Wexford. He had at least one daughter:

1 Dorothea, born 27th January 1821, died 30th November 1909 aged 88. She married on 13th February 1839 William Bewley Esquire, of Ilerton Killiney, county Dublin.
