PEDIGREE OF HOWDEN

This skeleton pedigree was passed on to me many years ago by a director of the firm James Howden, in Glasgow.

Howden, a soldier in Cromwell's army who settled in East Lothian in 1668. He had issue:

James Howden, born at Haddington in 1766, he married Anne Pettigrew in 1790. They had issue:

1 John Howden, who had sons George and William.
2 Margaret Howden.
3 James Howden, born at Haddington in 1796, he married in 1828 Anne Howden, born at Haddington ca 1880. They had issue:

1 Margaret Howden, died in 1871
2 Catherine Howden, born in 1843, died in 1922
3 Joan Howden
4 Isabella Howden, died in 1923
5 Peter Howden
6 James Howden, born in 1832, died in 1913. He married Helen Adams, who died in 1915. He married 2ndly Catherine French. He married 3rdly Alison Hay. They had issue:

1 William Hay Howden.
2 James Howden.

7 Ann Hunter Howden.
