JOHN JACOB

Of West Court

A mortgage for £500 dated in 1858, granted by John Jacob to William Marshall Kelcey,
for lands in Hawkinge and Folkestone (Jacob MSS).

 

A son of William Jacob of West Court, he had been married to Mary Elizabeth Morphew, but they had no children. He died at West Court in 1863, where he had carried on farming after his father died, and was succeeded by a nephew, a son of Thomas Jacob of Skeete, who remained there until 1906. He died in 1911, aged 90, West Court having been in the family for 122 years.
