GEORGE SELBY
Born - Died in 1800
The seal of George Selby taken from a letter dated 22nd February 1796.
Of Alnwick, in Northumberland, he was the son of Richard Selby of Holy Island and Anne Lilburne. His wife was named Jane and they had at least two children:
1 Prideaux, born in 1745, and died on 12th May 1813.
2 Henry Collingwood, born in 1748, died in 1839.
He bought the Twizzel House Estate on 3rd May 1790. The above manuscript is his written agreement to buy it at £4800, a significant amount of money in that period.
