MACNALLY PEDIGREE



Particulars of Henry Macnally (dec) and some of his descendants (grand father of G V Macnally).

Henry Macnally was married 2nd February 1815 at St John's church, Margate. He died October 1870 in Margate. His widow died at Sandwich, Kent, on 24th May 1875; she was buried in Ash churchyard, Kent. They had children, namely

John, the eldest. He died at Margate three months after his father's decease on 31st January 1891 (his wife Amy Louisa died February 1890).
James Leonard Macnally, born 18th January 1824, married Emma Solley 1849. He died 20th July 1890, aged 66 years.Thomas William Macnally, He married twice.
Richard Macnally. He lost his life through a firework explosion 4th November 1863.
Charles Alfred, who died 29th January 1888 at Eastbourne aged 50 years; buried at St Peter's, Broadstairs, Kent.
Harry, deceased; one daughter who died a spinster.
Jesse.
Frank, who died in 1879 (married but no issue)
Sarah Macnally. She married a Mr Winch and they had a butcher's business in Margate.
Maria. She married a Mr Pettman, died 9th November 1903, aged 71.
Mary Ann Macnally. She married a Mr Hobes, both of whom lived and died at Wandsworth (they had no issue).

 

James Leonard, the second son of Henry Macnally and his wife, married Emma Solley (a daughter of John Solley, farmer of Tickenhurst, Northbourne, Kent) in 1849. They had a family of five, namely:

Lucy, born 16th March 1850, who married her cousin Alfred Solley on 5th June 1873 (they had a family of five children) She died 21st July 1934.
Emma Macnally, born 10th September 1852 at Polts Farm, Ash, Kent (Macfaskie's are the present tenants of it). She died in London of cancer on 10th March 1928, was interred in Paddington cemetery WC on 14th March 1928.
James Leonard Macnally, born 18th January 1854, died 7th June 1925 (of Syncope).
Rhoda, born 2nd April 1858, was twice married. First to George Alexander Seares, by whom she had one son (G A Seares, died of consumption on 25th February 1878, is buried at Kew, Surrey) and the little son Georgie, died 1879 aged 2 years and 3 months (of tubercular glands).
The said Rhoda Macnally was married again later in life to Mr Joseph Horton. They resided in North London till his death about 1904 (no family by this second marriage).

His widow Rhoda Horton died in Paddington, London, WC, on 30th November 1933 and was interred in the new part of the Forest Hill cemetery SE on 6th November 1933.

George Valentine Macnally was born 20th July 1864 at 2 Bowling Street, Sandwich, Kent, and was married to Mary Louisa Anne Ritchie on 10th August 1896. Issue, sons, but none to live. NB His parents lived in SE London and died there. Both were buried in Forest Hill cemetery (Kent); number of her grave there is 3 6 72 sq 18 (interment 9th February 1894) and number of his is 19 4 11 (interment July 1890).

Charles Alfred Macnally was 6th son of Henry Macnally and his wife previously mentioned, he Charles Alfred married a Miss Sophia Laura Rogers. They had two children, a son and a daughter. Charles the son was born on 14th July 1864. He never married and died 18th January 1932 aged 67 1/2 years. His sister Laura was born 22nd November 1880, also like her brother, she never married. She died of consumption of the throat at Broadstairs on 10th August 1909 aged 29 years. Their mother Sophie Laura, wife of Charles Alfred Macnally died on 22nd June 1894. Her husband pre-deceased her dying at Eastbourne on 29th January 1888, but all four of them were interred at St Peter's, Broadstairs, Kent.

James Leonard Macnally, eldest son of James Leonard Macnally and his wife and grandson of Henry Macnally, was born 1854 and married Jemima Poiltand. They had 13 children, two dying in infancy. Names of the other eleven are:

Jemima Macnally, wife of James L Macnally, died on 14th February 1917 (acute bronchitis) aged 76 years.
