FOGGE ANCESTORS



Jane Viol married Edward Jacob of Canterbury. She was the daughter of the Reverend Strangford Viol and Jane Fogge.

Jane Fogge was the daughter of Richard Fogge of Dane Court, Kent (born ca 1607, died in 1680 and buried at Tilmanstone) and Anne, the daughter of Nicholas Darrel, brother of Robert Darrel of Calehill.

Richard Fogge was the son of Thomas Fogge of Dane Court (born 28th August 1585) and Sybill, the daughter of Thomas Lloyd of Marston, Gloucestershire (buried at Tilmanston in 1645).

Richard Fogge was the son of Richard Fogge of Dane Court (died 1598 aged 50) and Anne, the daughter of Christopher Sackville.

Richard Fogge was the son of George Fogge of Brabourne, afterwards of Repton as heir to his nephew, and Margaret, the daughter of Sir William Kemp, knight, of Ollantigh (1st wife).

George was the son of Sir John Fogge, knight, of Repton, Marshal of Calais, Sheriff of Kent in 1523 (died 1533) and Margaret the daughter of Jeffrey Goldwell.

Sir John Fogge was the son of Sir John Fogge, knight, of Repton and Westenhanger (died 1501) and Joan the daughter of Sir Richard Lee, knight, Lord Mayor of London..

Sir John Fogge was the son of Sir John Fogge, knight, Privy Counsellor to King Edward IV, Knight of the Shire of Kent 1478, Sheriff of Kent in 1454, 1474 and 1481 and Alice, daughter and heir of Sir Thomas Criol, knight, of Westenhanger (1st wife).

Sir John Fogge was the son of Sir William Fogge, knight, and a daughter and heir of Sir William Wadham, knight (1st wife).

Sir William Fogge was the son of Sir Thomas Fogge, banneret, who attended John of Gaunt in Spain (1386), Knight of the Shire of Kent 1382, 1383, 1384, 1385 and 1388 and Joane, daughter and heir of Sir Stephen de Vallence (died 1425). Both he and his wife are buried in the nave of Canterbury Cathedral.

Sir Thomas Fogge was the son of Sir Thomas Fogge, knight, Knight of the Shire of Kent in 1377, 1379 and 1381 and Ann, Countess of Joyeux in France.

Sir Thomas Fogge was the son of Sir Francis Fogge, knight, of Repton tempus Edward II and III and Joan, daughter and co-heir of Waresius de Valoigns.

Sir Francis was the son of John Fogge.

John Fogge was the son of Otho Fogge, of a Lancashire family, who came to Kent in the reign of Edward I (1272-1307).
